Jimmy Pedro Seminar

Don’t forget about Jimmy Pedro coming to Combat Sports Boston this Saturday the 18th. Seminar starts at 10am and it is $75 at the door.

Don’t miss out on this opprotunity to train with one of the most succesful Judo competitors  in American history. He is a 2 time Olympic Bronze medalist and a 3 time medalist at the World Championships.

Updates

Just a couple updates for everyone about the club

Morning Classes are now 5 days a week for you crazy people that like to be up at 6am. Stan Schultz will teach Tuesday and Thursday and John Mcdonough will keep his normal Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

David Crowell’s boxing classes on Tuesday and Thursday have been a huge success. Everyone is loving the program that he’s putting together. And he’s been helping out big time with all the Haymakers for Hope competitors. Follow their progress on the HFH facebook page and website.

New Instructor

We are happy to announce an addition to our team. David Crowell will be taking over our Boxing program as of Tomorrow 4/5/11.

David has over 20 years of boxing experience. He was trained by legendary trainer Val Boston and competed for 8 years as an amateur and professional fighter. As an amateur he was the 1991 Lowell Golden Gloves Champion representing New England in the 1991 National Golden Gloves; he was 1991 ABF New England Champion and the recipient of best fighter of the tournament award. He was undefeated in his 4 professional bouts. David has since trained and managed golden gloves champions and main event professional boxers. He has trained boxers out of the Olympia Gym, South Shore Boxing Club, South Shore PAL, Somerville Boxing, and more. He ran the boxing gym at Boston Muay Thai where he had the opportunity to train punching techniques to Muay Thai, Thai Kwon Do and MMA combatants.

New class structure will take you through 2 hours of instruction every Tuesday and Thursday. We will be looking to add to this class schedule in the near future.

Updates

 

Open House at the gym this week until Friday. Come in and enjoy a free day of classes or just come check the place out. Workouts are for first time visitors with a valid ID

We have a solid crew of people that are going to be participating in Hay Makers For Hope. A charity boxing event with proceeds benefiting the Dana Farber Cancer institute and the Jimmy Fund. Check out their website at www.HayMakersForHope.com and find their Facebook page for updates on the event.

Gustavo Machado Seminar

The seminar was a huge success. We had a great group of guys here that all learned a tremendous amount.  Thank you to everyone that participated and took advantage of such a great learning experience.

Haymakers For Hope

2011 NAGA New England Grappling Championship

A few of our guys competed in the NAGA New England Championship this past weekend. We want to congratulate everyone that competed.

We also want to send out a big congrats to Peter Kwon who took two 1st place finishes in the novice No-gi and White Belt Gi,  Chris Halpin who took 3rd place in whitebelt Gi Heavyweight , and our instructor Greg Brown for taking 2ndplace in the Men’s Heavyweight Blue Belt division Nice job guys, Keep  up the hard work
